What is ESG?
ESG comes from the English Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance, which in Portuguese refers to the Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance pillars, which until then was referred to as Sustainability, broadening the understanding and extension of practices, mainly encompassing the production chain. Transparency plays a fundamental role within ESG, especially in the governance pillar. Companies that adopt clear and responsible practices in rendering accounts, fighting corruption and communicating with stakeholders strengthen their reputation and gain greater trust from investors, consumers and society.
Environmental
It deals with the cooperative's performance as a steward of the natural environment in which it operates. These include policies and the ability to mitigate risks such as the use of renewable energy, waste management, pollution control and carbon dioxide emissions, and water management.
.Social
How the cooperative manages relationships with its different stakeholders in the regions where it operates (employees, members, clients and communities). They include views and practices on diversity, human rights and consumer protection.
Governance
It covers the spheres of leadership of the cooperative, executive remuneration, the succession process, the control environment (risks and compliance), guarantee functions and the rights of cooperative members and other stakeholders.
Good Practices and Sustainability
Our cooperative family is the key to the production chain! By adopting Good Agricultural Practices, such as soil and water preservation, as well as guaranteeing fair working conditions, we strengthen the sustainability of the sector. Regulatory bodies, customers and consumers value and demand these practices, directly impacting the acceptance of our products and the success of everyone. After all, those who cultivate responsibility reap recognition!
