Our commitment to the present and the future
At Cooxupé, we are proud to be more than a cooperative. We are a network of people who believe in the power of the collective, the value of the land and the transformative potential of coffee. Our passion lies in supporting those who make it all happen: the producers. We walk together in the field, we listen closely, we understand the challenges of farming and we connect the needs of our members with the demands of the market. This is how we build a cooperative that is strong, humane and prepared for the future. In essence, we were born committed to the common good, guided by the principles of cooperativism - which go hand in hand with sustainability. In 2022, we reinforced this commitment by structuring our ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance) agenda. We strengthened existing initiatives, created new projects and established policies that expand our responsibility towards the environment, people and the governance of our operation. To make this agenda even more strategic, we created an area dedicated exclusively to ESG, which had previously been focused on Quality and Environment. We also hired a specialized consultancy to align our guidelines with market requirements and good global practices. Based on internationally recognized frameworks - such as GRI (Global Reporting Initiative), SASB (Sustainability Accounting Standards Board), ISE (B3 Corporate Sustainability Index), System B and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - we carried out a detailed diagnosis of Cooxupé's maturity in environmental, social and corporate governance. This process was carried out with the active listening and great participation of our partners. Based on an analysis of 24 relevant themes, we prioritized 10 that today guide our actions and decisions. They reflect what really matters to our cooperative, our members, the community and the planet.
