Commitment to sustainability right from the start

Since 1932, our founders have been looking to the future, caring about the sustainability of producers and our cooperative, like true visionaries!

1932: Social commitment

In the "Minutes of Installation of the Cooperative" of 1932, when it was still operating as an agricultural credit cooperative, its strong concern for the "social" aspect is already demonstrated by stating in its main objective: "the provision of credit and cash to its members". It should be noted that during this period, the world was going through a major economic recession and that the constitution of the cooperative was aimed at social gain, with access to credit for economic growth, income generation and jobs.

1933: small producer

The attention and concern for small farmers also reinforces the social commitment, which is recorded in the minutes of the Board of Directors dated December 30, 1933: "It is necessary that we bring the benefits of society to all the farmers in your jurisdiction, especially the small ones. They are the ones who need the company the most, and they are the ones the company needs the most. They are the ones who eagerly work their small patches of land, making the most of them. That's the moral capital we receive with the entry of a small partner".

1957: coffee in focus

When it officially became a cooperative focused on "coffee" in 1957, it put the emphasis on encouraging production, setting up structures for receiving, storing, preparing and marketing the coffee of its members. "We need to bring the benefits of society to all the farmers in our jurisdiction, especially the small ones. They are the ones who need society the most and society needs them the most. They are the ones who eagerly work their small patches of land, making the most of them. That's the moral capital we receive with the entry of a small partner".

2025: more than 20,000 members

Cooxupé continues to strengthen its commitment to sustainability, even after reaching the milestone of more than 20,000 members. With initiatives aimed at environmental preservation, social responsibility and governance, the cooperative constantly invests in practices that promote sustainable coffee production. The cooperative's growth reinforces the importance of combining economic development with sustainability, guaranteeing a prosperous future for generations to come.
