FSMA

It is a set of regulations from the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) legislation in the United States of America. All food exporters to the US are required to have implemented HARPC - Hazard Analysis and Risk-based Preventive Controls, which consists of:

- Food Safety (Hazard Analysis and Preventive Controls to prevent unintentional occurrences)
- Food Defense (Threat Analysis and Preventive Controls to prevent intentional occurrences / sabotage)
- Food Fraud (to prevent economic fraud, adulteration of the product in order to make a profit).

In order to comply with the FSMA, Cooxupé has implemented its SGSA - Food Safety System - Raw Coffee Beans at the Japy Complex and SMC units. As this is not a certification, there is no audit by accredited bodies, nor is there a certificate issued.
